Postage charges on ebay matter more than you think.
Most seasoned ebayers will know if you're trying to make a quick buck by inflating your postage and packing charges and pass on your item.
I'm not saying it's wrong to make a little on this, after all, you've got to pack the sold item and spend time in taking it to the post office and pay for the postage. But don't go over the top. You can get lists of postage charges from your post office or delivery company and we've all got a set of scales at home haven't we? You can work out your cost fairly quickly so you know what to charge.
As you can see on ebay, buyers can search for items with free delivery. I've used free delivery for items I'm selling most of the time. It's quite a good advantage if its a fairly small item and you're selling using the 'buy it now' feature. You can work some of the cost of delivery in with the price of your item by doing this and if a buyer is searching 'free delivery' then your items will appear in the narrowed down results.
All the best
